If you cannot find the information you require in the following questions and answers, please contact me
How do I order a Pet Portrait?
Before ordering a Pet Portrait please ensure you have read the Ordering
Information and Pricing Pages. You then need to fill in the
Online Order Form. This can be sent electronically by email, or you can print out a
version and post it. When you have sent me your photographs and I have checked they are
suitable and you have paid the deposit required I will send you an order confirmation.
How do I pay for my Pet Portrait?
Your Pet Portrait can be paid for online via your debit or credit card. All payment processing is done by Paypal, so I never see your card details. Your card details and personal information is protected with the use of a 128-bit SSL certificate. For more information, you can look at the Privacy and Security pages.
Can I see my Pet Portrait before it is despatched?
When your Pet Portrait is complete you will be sent an email that contains a link to
your pet's own Portrait Page. You do not have to pay for your Pet Portrait until you are
100% satisfied with it. You can also follow the progress of your Pet Portrait online on the
Work in Progress Page, so you can have full input throughout.
How much will a Pet Portrait cost?
The cost of a Pet Portrait depends on the size and medium selected. Please see the
Pricing page for more details.
How much does postage cost?
Postage is free Worldwide
How long will my pet portrait take?
The usual delivery time is 3 - 5 weeks from confirmation of your order but can be as long as 2
months at busy times. You will be able to track the progress of your Pet Portrait on the
Work in Progress page.
Will my Pet Portrait appear on the website?
Your Pet Portrait will be added to the website, first on the Work in Progress
Page, then in the Pet Portraits Online Gallery, however if your Pet Portrait
is for a present and surprise is essential a personal web page will be
created just for you
What medium are your Pet Portraits in?
Pet Portraits can be commissioned in Graphite Pencil and
Coloured Pencil.
I want more than one pet in my portrait, is this ok?
Yes, that's fine. I can do group portraits of your animal family. Prices for additional subjects
are dependant on the size of your portrait. See the Pricing page for
more details. A 20" x 24" portrait is a suitable size for a group
portrait of up to 4 medium / large size dogs. If you have a very large group, please contact
me for a personal quote.
Can I have a background in my portrait?
Portraits are not normally supplied with a background, but I can draw one if you would
like. This can be your garden, or your pets favourite walking or resting place. Please
ensure the background reference photographs are clear. There is an extra charge for a
background. Details are on the Pricing Page.
Can you combine photographs?
Yes, it is often neccessary to combine photographs. The more photographs you can send the
better. I can use several different photographs of different pets to do a group portrait,
or you may want a portrait of your pet in a particular pose, but the photograph isn't very
clear. In this situation you can send multiple photos, for the pose you want and clear
photos of your pet's colours and markings. It is helpful to put notes on the photographs
explaining which are your favourites and why.
What size photographs do you need?
The larger the better. The smallest I usually accept is 5" x 7". If you are
sending digital images, please send them as .jpg or .tif files, with a minumum 200dpi
resolution. A .jpg image that is approximately 5" x 7" at 200dpi is approximately
300kb.
My pet has passed away, I'm not sure if the photograph is ok, can you help?
If you are unsure if your photograph is suitable, please post or email a copy and I can
have a look and let you know. In this situation I will always do my best for you.
Are the portraits framed?
I do not provide the portraits framed, as I feel it is important for the frame on your finished
Pet Portrait to match the feel of your home, and I don't think this is achievable over the
internet. The Pet Portrait sizes
fit standard frame sizes, so a frame should be easily purchased from a high street shop.
The Prices and Sizes page has the relevant frame sizes.
